No matter the distance, I've got a coaching plan to meet your needs. From a fun and rugged local 5k to a distant, grueling 100 miles, you will get the training and tools necessary to succeed. Take a look at these common race distances and decide which coaching plan is right for you.

What's included


  • Coaching plans for all distances include a dynamic training schedule tailored to your goals, skill level, and available time. When you sign up for a plan you'll receive a detailed runner survey to assess your experience, health and fitness, and goals. I'll use this assessment to build your initial training schedule.
  • Weekly email updates from you will provide me with feedback on your training. And of course, since life often laughs at our attempts to plan, I'll review your ongoing progress and feedback to adjust and adapt, truly making the schedule your own. 
  • If you're interested in training for a particular race, I'll help you select a good one and make sure your training will get you to the starting line and ready for race day.
  • Questions inevitably arise during training. As part of the coaching process you can use email to ask any and all questions. Send them day or night and I'll respond as quickly as possible to keep you on the trail.
  • Every coaching plan comes with one hour of dedicated, personal coaching. For folks in the Chico area, this will be an in-person meeting (probably at Bidwell Park). For those who are more distant, we'll take advantage of technology and meet online using Skype, Google Hangouts, or FaceTime for the next best thing to being there. And if you'd like more one-on-one time, additional coaching sessions can be purchased separately.
  • As I continue to expand my coaching offerings, everyone will get access to articles, videos, and advice on key topics like attitude, pacing, handling terrain, better running form, shoes & gear, how to handle race day, and more.

All coaching plans are purchased in 4 week increments. For 5k, 10k and half marathon training there is no minimum commitment. Due to the extended preparation and training necessary for the marathon and ultramarathon distances a 3 month minimum commitment is required.

All coaching plans are priced in 1 month (4 week) segments. Pay as you go, or take advantage of long-term commitment discounts by purchasing several months in advance. Please note that marathon and ultramarathon coaching plans require a 3 month minimum commitment.

Additional Coaching Sessions


All coaching plans include a one hour personal session each month. Local clients will meet in person, and Google Hangouts, Skype, and FaceTime will be available for remote clients. Additional one hour sessions can be purchased individually, or in quantity to take advantage of price discounts.
